He recently opened his own business, Jr's Automotive and Customs, located on U.S Highway 8 in Catawba. "For a long time, I have been interested in finding an automotive-related business in this area," he said. "My dad was born and raised in Prentice and we have a lot of relatives in the area. When he moved back to the community after retiring, we began looking for a business to buy." Last fall, Brooker purchased Ray's Auto Repair facility in Catawba from Chad Makovsky who sold the business following the death of his father. A poll of ASE-certified automotive technicians indicated that drivers over 60 were among the most conscientious when it comes to taking care of their vehicles.
